In 2013, the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) released a new version of the Residential Design Codes, otherwise known as R-Codes. These codes provide a framework for controlling population and development density. The most interesting change for property developers, is the lowering of average and minimum lot sizes. This presents exciting new opportunities for property sub-division. Another change is that ancillary dwellings (granny flats) can now be occupied by non-family members.
To prevent expensive damage to existing buildings, care must be taken when excavating and constructing new dwellings. CGI Solutions can strengthen existing foundations and earthworks, ensuring that any new work does not damage your own, or neighbouring properties.
